#TL21C Professional Development Program

This free DEECD sponsored course runs from Wednesday 4 June through to Friday 31 October and provides teachers in Victorian State Schools with a flexible, teacher-led professional development program showcasing how teachers from around the state add value to teaching and learning through effective and seamless use of ICT in the classroom.

The Opening Session at NMIT on Wednesday 4 June will include a half day session with Will Richardson, an internationally recognised educator, writer and thinker on the intersection of social media and education.

The course aims to provide participants with:

  • a practical overview of how teachers are seamlessly using ICT in their teaching to enhance student learning

  • a better understanding of the tools, resources, learning communities and collaborative possibilities other teachers are exploring through ICT

  • clear, practical examples of how to use readily available software, Web 2.0 tools and learning communities to add value to teaching and learning at school

  • an opportunity to participate with other Victorian educators in an inquiry-based learning project designed to assist participants and their schools. Projects are guided by a coaching team of experienced educators.

Participants are expected to allocate around one hour per week outside school hours engaging online with other course participants. Schools are expected to cover any CRT costs associated with the two face to face days.

  1. Good news. The Digital Learning Branch has generously expanded the course numbers from 70 to 100 so that more teachers can join in.

    • Hi Kate,
We have a full cohort but usually a small number of people drop out before the day due to unexpected circumstances. I’ll send you an email if we have room after confirmations come in on Thursday. Can you wait till then?
